White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt:
“The President met with his trade team this morning, and he directed them to have tailor made trade deals with each and every country that calls up this administration to strike a deal, and listen.”
The big question is whether they will have these negotiations under tariffs or if they will be paused for negotiations. Right now it’s looking like they will go into effect but with Trump you never know. Clearly some of the optimism has faded though.
