It all comes down to the bid-ask spread! If you buy at the ask ($10.10) and sell at the bid ($10.00), you lose 10 cents a share right off the bat before fees. On a 1,000-share order, that’s an instant $100 loss! Always check the bid, ask, and available size! Not just the last traded price before placing an order.
