Hi, itโs Mo from StarseedFX. Every day, our StarseedFX community gets numerous order block alerts for various pairs and timeframes like EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDCAD, and EURCAD. Letโs delve into an example. Two days ago, we sent out an alert for EURAUD, which was especially noteworthy because it came from the fair value gap.
As you may know, we send two alerts for every pair. The first one is the fair value gap alert. Once the price taps into this gap, everyone gets an alert โ itโs like a heads-up. It tells you another alert is on its way for that pair and that the price is about to hit the order block zone. This helps you get prepared. Now, a common question is: can we trade the fair value gap? The short answer is yes, and Iโll explain how.
Trading the fair value gap is similar to trading based on the order block alert, and we follow the same checklist setup. Letโs go to TradingView to see how itโs done.
When we get an H1 order block alert, we donโt dive in immediately. Instead, we go to a lower timeframe, either m1 or m5, depending on your preference. For today, Iโll use the m1 timeframe. Our primary considerations include checking for liquidity sweeps, the fair value gap, and identifying any minor changes of character or โchock.โ
But letโs go step by step. When you first receive the alert, if youโre at your computer, you should switch to the m1 timeframe and monitor the market movements. For instance, you should check if thereโs liquidity, if thereโs a fair value gap, or if thereโs any minor change of character. If all these three conditions are met, you can consider placing a trade.
However, itโs crucial to be patient. Even if two conditions are met but one is lacking, you shouldnโt rush. For instance, if we find a fair value gap and a change of character but no liquidity, placing a buy order might not be the best move. Why? Because if liquidity is resting somewhere else, itโs likely weโll get stopped out.
As youโll notice from our example, trading the fair value gap can be profitable if you stick to the checklist. But like any trading strategy, thereโs always a risk. In my experience, following this method, about 80% of trades turn out successful.
In future videos, Iโll cover how to determine take-profit targets and discuss strategies for trading on continuation. But for now, remember the key elements: liquidity sweeps, the fair value gap, and minor โchock.โ If you stay disciplined and follow these guidelines, youโll increase your chances of profitable trades.
I hope you found this video insightful and that this setup makes your trading journey smoother. Stay safe and trade wisely!
